What a VPN Does — and Doesn’t — Protect You From
This is important.
A VPN can help:
* Encrypt your internet connection
* Hide your IP address from websites
* Reduce exposure when using untrusted public Wi-Fi
* Improve privacy from your internet provider
* Provide access to VPN servers in different locations
But a VPN does not make you completely anonymous online.
It doesn’t automatically protect you from:
* Phishing
* Weak passwords
* Malware
* Scam websites
* Social engineering
* Giving personal information to criminals
You still need strong passwords, two-factor authentication, updated software and sensible online habits.
