Some can be useful.
But free does not automatically mean safe.
A VPN company still has to pay for servers, infrastructure, employees and development.
So ask yourself:
How does this free service make money?
Some reputable providers offer limited free plans as a way of introducing users to their paid products. Proton VPN, for example, offers a free plan with unlimited bandwidth and says it doesn’t monetize the free service through ads or selling user data.
But you should be much more cautious with unknown free VPN applications.
