A few weeks ago, my friend excitedly showed me an article that an AI chatbot had written for him in less than five minutes.
“It even added statistics,” he said proudly.
Curious, we checked the sources.
The numbers looked convincing. The explanations sounded professional. There was just one problem:
some of the statistics didn’t exist, and a few of the sources were completely made up.
That experience reminded me of something important.
AI has become incredibly capable, but it is not infallible.
The smartest way to use it isn’t to trust every answer blindly, it is to understand where it shines and where it falls short.
AI is not human and does not think Like one.
One of the biggest misconceptions about artificial intelligence is that it “knows” everything.
It doesn’t.
AI predicts what words are most likely to come next based on patterns it has learned from enormous amounts of data.
It does not understand the world the way people do, and it doesn’t verify every statement before presenting it.
That is why an answer can sound confident while still being inaccurate.
